Parakram Diwas
⬧ Musical performance by Armed Forces and Tribal Dance Festival 'Adi Shaurya - Parv Parakram Ka' will be organized on 23rd and 24th January, 2023 to commemorate the 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (celebrated as Parakram Diwas) at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi.
⬧ The purpose of organizing this program based on the theme of musical presentation and tribal dance style by the armed forces is to throw light on the contribution of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the freedom struggle of the country.
⬧ The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs are jointly organizing the event, with the Indian Coast Guard playing the role of coordinator.
⬧ Subhash Chandra Bose was born on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack city of Odisha; His mother's name was Prabhavati Dutt Bose and father's name was Janakinath Bose.
⬧ After his early schooling, he joined the Ravenshaw Collegiate School. He then took admission in the Presidency College Kolkata but was expelled from there due to his radical nationalist activities. After this he went to Cambridge University to study engineering.
⬧ In the year 1919, Bose went to London to prepare for the Indian Civil Services Examination and he was also selected there, although Bose resigned from the civil service because he believed that he could not work with the British.
⬧ Subhash Chandra Bose was deeply influenced by the teachings of Vivekananda and considered him his spiritual mentor, while Chittaranjan Das was his political mentor.
⬧ In the year 1925, due to his association with the revolutionary movements, he was sent to Mandalay Jail where he suffered from tuberculosis.
⬧ Bose travelled to Europe in the mid-1930s. He first researched and then wrote the first part of the book titled 'The Indian Struggle'.
⬧ Bose formed the 'National Planning Commission' after being elected the President of the Indian National Congress in the year 1938 (Haripura).
⬧ Bose was re-elected president in 1939 (Tripuri) but soon resigned from the post and formed the All India Forward Bloc, a faction within the Congress aimed at consolidating the political left.
⬧ Bose established the Free India Center in Berlin and formed the Indian Army from Indian prisoners of war.
⬧ In Europe, Bose sought help from Hitler and Mussolini for India's independence.
⬧ Azad Hind Radio was started in Germany in the year 1942 under the leadership of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
⬧ On this radio, on July 6, 1944, Bose addressed Mahatma Gandhi as the 'Father of the Nation'.
⬧ Bose reached Japan-controlled Singapore from Germany in July 1943 and from there he issued his famous slogan 'Delhi Chalo' and announced the formation of Azad Hind Government and Indian National Army on October 21, 1943.
⬧ He died in a plane crash on August 18, 1945 in Japanese-ruled Formosa (present-day Taiwan).
