World Cancer Day
⬧ World Cancer Day is observed every year on 4th February.
⬧ World Cancer Day is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).
⬧ The day was started on February 4, 2000 at the 'World Summit Against Cancer for the New Millennium' in Paris.
⬧ The objectives of the Paris Charter are to promote research, prevent cancer, improve patient care services, raise awareness, organize the global community for cancer prevention, and adopt World Cancer Day.
⬧ The 23rd World Cancer Day is being observed in the year 2023 and this year its theme is 'Close the Care Gap'.
⬧ World Cancer Day aims to reduce cancer deaths by creating awareness among governments and individuals around the world to take action against the disease.
⬧ The World Cancer Leaders Summit 2023 will be held on October 16-17 in Long Beach, CA, United States, with the theme 'Cancer Control in a Changing World'.
