Kanhaiyalal Manaklal Munshi (K.M. Munshi)
●  Kanhaiyalal Manaklal Munshi, popularly known as Ghanshyam Vyas, was born on December 30, 1887.
●  Under the influence of Sri Aurobindo, he was inclined towards the revolutionary group. But after settling in Mumbai, he joined the 'Indian Home Rule Movement' and became its secretary in 1915.
●  Munshi was elected to the Bombay Legislative Assembly in 1927, but resigned from the assembly after the 'Bardoli Satyagraha'.
●  He participated in the 'Civil Disobedience Movement' in 1930 and in 1932.
●  Munshi was arrested in 1932 and spent two years in jail.
●  Munshi was elected to the Bombay Presidency in 1937 and as the Home Minister played an important role in suppressing the communal riots in Bombay.
●  After participating in 'Individual Satyagraha, 'Munshi was arrested again in 1940.
●  He established an educational trust named 'Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan' in 1938.
●  Munshi was elected to the Constituent Assembly from Bombay on a Congress Party ticket. He was a member of 16 committees and sub-committees including the Drafting Committee.
●  After independence, he served as the Minister of Agriculture and Food till 1953. During his tenure as Agriculture Minister, he took the initiative of celebrating Van Mahotsav to increase the forest cover in the country.
●  He served as the Governor of Uttar Pradesh from 1953 to 1957.
●  In 1954, he started a monthly magazine called 'Bhargava' in Gujarati.
●  He died on February 8, 1971 at the age of 83.
