V.T. Krishnamachari
●  V.T. Krishnamachari was born on February 8, 1881 in Vangal, Tamil Nadu.
●  After completing his education, he joined the Indian Civil Service.
●  He was the Diwan of Baroda State (1927–1944) and a member of the Reserve Bank Committee (1930–1934) in British India.
●  V.T. Krishnamachari served as President of the Chamber of Princes (1941–1944) and Prime Minister of Jaipur State (1946–1949).
●  He was the representative of the princely state of Jaipur in the Constituent Assembly of India. He suggested some major amendments while being a member of the Constituent Assembly of India. His suggestions were mostly related to the powers of the Center and the provinces.
●  He was also the Vice President of the Constituent Assembly of India, and was Member of Union Constitution Committee, Union Powers Committee and Finance and Staff Committee.
●  He served as the chairman of the Indian State Finance Enquiry Committee (1948–1949).
●  As an administrator, he served as the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission (1953–60). He worked towards better agricultural production and irrigation.
●  Under his guidance, the Planning Commission also started the 'Community Development Program'.
●  He was the first Chairman of the Executive Council of the Indian Institute of Public Administration.
●  He died on February 14, 1964.
●  V.T. Krishnamachari was the author of many books. His main books are the following - Fundamentals of Planning in India, Community Development in India and Planned Development and Efficient Administration.
